Why choose a double-door box

The opening moment is part of the product. A double-door structure shows both labels at once and turns the inside of the doors into printable space. You can print origin, vintage, serving notes or a client-specific message there. That makes the format useful for corporate gifting, where the unboxing moment and brand personalisation carry the weight.

Aligning doors with card pockets

Plan the card pocket before sampling. A pocket fixed close to the closing edge lifts that door once a card is inserted, so the two doors no longer meet evenly. We move the pocket's fixing layer away from the closing edge so the card adds no thickness at the seam. This fault will not show up on an empty sample, so we check closure with the actual card fitted.

Board, facing and bottle insert

We build this box from 1400 g greyboard with 157 g textured facing. The insert is velvet-lined EVA with two separate wells. One well sits at the shoulder, one at the base, with a divider between the two bottles. The wells hold the bottle at four contact points and keep the necks and shoulders from floating. Two-bottle boxes should never rely on insert friction alone.

Repeat consistency and colour control

We control consistency with Pantone matching, first-article approval and in-run sampling. Magnet strength is matched on both doors so the opening feels even. Our control tolerance is plus or minus 1 mm on inserts and plus or minus 2 mm on the box body. That keeps doors aligned and bottles seated the same way from the first box to the last.

Black, deep blue and burgundy are the hardest colours to hold across a run, so we watch those jobs through the full production lot. The same box body often serves several corporate clients with only the printed card changed. We treat the card as a separate colour-managed part, not an afterthought.
