Why foldable changes the storage math

Buyers often compare box unit price without comparing how many empty packs fit in a shipping carton. That number, not the box itself, drives the storage difference. Empty rigid packs sit in racking until a sales schedule calls for filling. Foldable packs ship flat and take a fraction of that space.

Storage comparisons should state their basis: cartons of empty packaging only, excluding bottles, pallets, aisle space and container void. Volume reduction is not the same as freight cost reduction, and local assembly labour should be counted.

What we verify on a physical sample

Three things must be proven on a physical sample, not a 3D render. Creases must not crack the board, so greyboard weight and crease depth have to match. Magnet position must hold within plus or minus 1 mm. Corners must sit at 90 degrees when erected, or the insert will not seat.

We also check whether the insert's bottom tab fouls the side wall on erection. If it does, every unit needs manual correction on the line. We adjust the tab profile and print the assembly sequence on the reverse of the insert.

Carton math, not just box price

Carton count equals ceiling of sets divided by sets per carton. Total volume equals cartons times carton length times width times height. We work through this with your order quantity so you can compare storage and freight on the same basis as unit cost.

The foldable structure still uses the same greyboard and facing papers as our rigid wine gift boxes. Control tolerance stays at plus or minus 2 mm for the box body and plus or minus 1 mm for the insert.

How the sample process works

Send box dimensions or a bottle sample, a reference design, your quantity and any special requirements. We produce a blank sample to check structure first, then a printed sample for visual approval. Our in-house checks include a 1.2 m six-face drop test with the bottle loaded and a stacking top load of 40 kg or more for 24 hours.

For export orders, we pack foldable boxes flat in cartons and label each carton with the assembly sequence. You can fill locally or have us fill and pack at our Yiwu facility.
