The board and paper we accept

We start with the board. For rigid and foldable wine gift boxes, greyboard is 1200 g minimum. For spirits bottles, we recommend 1400 g. Facing paper is 157 g minimum specialty or coated stock. We do not use recycled greyboard or high moisture paper in these structures. Those baselines keep corners sharp, surfaces stable, and the box from softening in a customer's hand.

How the bottle sits inside

The insert matters more than the box exterior for the unboxing moment. We use velvet trays, EVA foam, blister, or paper mould depending on the bottle and design. Any insert must hold the bottle at four points. We reject designs that leave the neck or shoulder unsupported. On the sample we shake the loaded box for 10 seconds, tilt it 45 degrees, and invert it. No movement, no slide, no release.

Tolerances and colour matching

Our control tolerance is plus or minus 1 mm on inserts and plus or minus 2 mm on the box body. Foldable boxes get extra checks: creases must not crack, magnet position is plus or minus 1 mm, and corners sit at 90 degrees when erected. Colour follows Pantone matching with first article approval and mid run sampling. Black, deep blue and burgundy are the hardest shades to hold, so we watch those runs more closely.

What happens before packing

Before a batch leaves our floor, we run three physical checks. A loaded box drops from 1.2 m on six faces. Stacking top load is 40 kg or more for 24 hours. We also run truck and sea vibration simulation and then open the box to confirm nothing moved inside. These are our in house checks. If a box fails, it does not ship.
